Regeneration

to revitalise ecology

The planet and our immediate environment has been damaged to such extent over the last century that the Restoration Industry has been forced to make its appearance. The Regeneration exhibition delves into the world of ecosystem restoration.

What tools can be used to restore our ecosystems? Making our environment livable again, without falling into destructive repetition, is key. The question remains, how then should we deal with problems such as extreme drought, humidity, desertification, erosion, land depletion, overfishing, pollution and (litter) waste?

Regeneration opened on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016 at the Transnatural gallery and was also on view the Dutch Design Week at the Veemgebouw at Strijp-S from Oct. 22 - 30. The participating designers, artists and organizations presented a world where infinitely sustainable, circular systems dictate.

Regeneration

30/09/2016 - 26/04/2017

Regeneration gave more than a glimpse into the Restoration Industry. New living, resource, food and material possibilities arising from restored ecology were also discussed. Regeneration highlighted the diversity and recent developments within the rapidly growing, bio-cultural field in which biological and technological knowledge, speculation, tradition and practice mix.

In addition to the exhibitions, a lecture program was organized with demonstrations and workshops in collaboration with Mediamatic.
